Om Puri Gets Thrashed On Twitter After His Disrespectful Comment On Soldiers’ Martyrdom

It seems Bollywood, in its attempt to defend Pakistani artists in the industry has lost the reigns of the situation. Instead of making logical arguments, even veteran actors like Om Puri have decided to say whatever they see fit.

Om Puri appeared on a News Channel debate to speak about the ban on Pakistani artists on the show. Referring to Indian soldiers and their sacrifices, he made a statement aggressively which has led to a big controversy.

“We haven’t forced them to join army.” He further said, “Prepare 15-20 people as suicide bomber and send them to Pakistan.”

 

Twitter couldn’t handle this blatant disrespect and went crazy.

Does being a good actor exempt one from performing his duty as a citizen of his nation? Whatever Mr. Puri said was highly insensitive, and hope he realises the amount of courage and self-sacrifice it takes to fight for your motherland across the border.
