Last year, Kim Kardashian West wore traditional Indian accessories like gold bangles and a maang tikka and got called out for cultural appropriation online.
Now, she has shared photos from her most recent shoot in which she can be seen wearing large earrings with the symbol of Om. The shoot has been styled by stylist and photographer Sita Abellan, reports the Independent.

The choice of earrings has once again sparked controversy online with people telling Kim that sacred symbols from religion shouldn’t be turned into accessories just for the sake of aesthetics.
Is now a good time to mention that the Om is a sacred symbol to Hindus and not just an accessory?

Leave our culture and religion alone.

Can Westerners for once respect other cultures?? ॐ is a religious symbol, not your aesthetic 😩

miss kim kardashian west will appropriate a culture for an aesthetic but will NEVER speak about the issues faced by the same

In the past, Rihanna also faced backlash for wearing a Lord Ganesha pendant in a shoot for her own brand SavagexFenty. What do you think of these incidents? Tell us.
