Thanks To Ola Share, There Are 1 Lakh Ways To Keep Your Wallet & The Environment Happy!

India’s traffic situation is like a black hole that swallows up our time and money with every commute we undertake. Did you know that 14 of the top 15 most polluted cities in the world are Indian? And have we done anything about it? Well, here’s an eye-opener, even the smallest of efforts can make a difference.

Keeping the thought of ‘making a difference’ in mind, Ola decided to take their ride share feature and turn it into a noble initiative—#FarakPadtaHai.

#FarakPadtaHai, launched last year, is all about urging people to switch to greener and smarter modes of public transport, be it trains, metros, buses or Ola Share instead of private vehicles.

And on occasion of this World Environment Day, Ola found the most innovative and effective way to talk about this initiative. Take a look.

On June 5, World Environment Day, Ola’s Twitter handle posted a series of tweets that looked like this….

Whoa! Did someone forget using the spacebar or what?

Here, check out another tweet….

Confused? Well, these tweets represent our Indian roads, jampacked with no space in between. If reading a tweet like that, with zero space, could be so difficult, just think of how frustrating commuting through actual such traffic would feel like?

And with that hard-hitting thought very wisely conveyed, Ola announced it’s plans to take on congestion and pollution by urging more and more people to take up ride sharing!

Nicely done, don’t you think?

What’s more, to motivate everyone to participate in this endeavour, Ola found the perfect incentive: Giving away free rides!

Imagine doing your bit for the environment and getting rewarded for it in return? Double whammy!

“Ola is giving out 1 Lakh free rides between 5-8th June, to customers booking Ola Share rides from mass transit locations!”

Commuters can book free rides from mass transit locations such as metro stations, railway stations, and bus stops across 7 cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.

But in case you need a tad bit more motivation to ditch your car and hop into Ola’s shared cabs, you’ve got 1 Lakh reasons to take your pick from!

So go ahead and make not just your wallet, but even the environment happy with your decision to share a cab! And be proud for doing your bit for the environment. Because now you know, #FarakPadtaHai!
