Let me put this out there: birth videos are not cute. Nope, not at all. I mean, have you seen a human baby being born? It’s not a sight everyone can stomach! But when it comes to animals, sea creatures in particular, it might be a whole different ball game!
Recently, Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center in the United States shared a really adorable video of an octopus hatching from its egg and you’ll totally not want to miss this!
The video was shared about a week ago and even now it is making people squee in delight at how cute the whole thing is.
Equally sweet is the caption for the video which says,
“Our octopus laid eggs and we had several hatch! While we are cautiously optimistic, it is common for octopuses to lay over one hundred eggs in its clutch to ensure at least one makes it to adulthood. Thankfully, these little critters are going to receive the best possible chance from our incredible animal care team.”
So much awww, right?

Noticed how the baby octopus changed its colour just like that? And that tiny creature, known as a brine shrimp or sea monkey, checking out the eggs? Wasn’t it all just beautiful?
Ever since it was posted, the video has garnered over 2.5 million views and loads of love in the comments section! But the best part has been how the Science Center has been responding to people’s reactions!
Loads of people had questions about what exactly was happening in the video, how the octopus changed colour and so on. And the Center answered all the questions like a proper pro Mommy!
