“Rate Kya Hai?”: Men Harass Group Of Women From North-East Outside Pub In Delhi

It is no secret that the safety of women in our society is in a dire state, and how often harassment takes place on the streets. Another appalling incident has come to light from Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi where a group of women from the North East narrated an incident of eve-teasing and racial abuse that happened to them.

The chairperson of DCW (Delhi Commission of Women) shared the video online and issued a notice to the Delhi Police.

As per a report in Yahoo News, the women from Darjeeling revealed that they were returning from a pub at around 10 PM when a couple of men allegedly asked them ‘Rate kya hai?”. The girls stood up to them questioned the harassers on their grave slut-shaming and racism, asking them why they spoke to them in such a vile manner.

In the latest development, the Delhi Police has registered an FIR under IPC section 509 and has started an investigation through local informers, CCTV footage, and inquiry of the restaurant owner, TOI reports.
