Cyclone Nisarga has already stirred chaos on the Maharashtra coast near Alibaugh. According to NDTV, Alibaugh reported a wind speed of 93 km/hr this afternoon, likely to increase to 120km/hr. More than 19,000 people have been moved to safety in Maharashtra and 43 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been deployed in the coastal areas, including that of Gujarat.
Scary visuals of the effects of cyclone Nisarga are going viral on the internet. People took to Twitter to post videos of gusty winds with heavy rainfall, uprooted trees and aluminium sheds, as well as violent waves in the sea which are worrying, to say the least.
