From weightlifter Mirabai Chanu to the fabulous four of Lawn Bowls, Indian athletes are giving their best and winning medals at the Commonwealth Games 2022. And among them is Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen who made us proud by bringing a gold medal home in the women’s 50kg (Light Flyweight) category.
Of course, it’s her hard work and dedication that won her this coveted medal. But her mother has also been a huge motivator for her as Nikhat had promised her mom that she would bring the medal for her as her birthday gift.

She was so adamant about winning the gold that she even painted a gold medal on both her hands reminding her of gifting a gold medal to her mom.

And she finally did it. Nikhat punched down her opponent Carly Mc Naul of Northern Irelan to come out as a champion.
