It’s that dish that all of us crave after having an eventful hogging spree or post the food coma after festivities. And like most Indian food, this staple combo is made and eaten differently in every Indian household almost every day.

Well, recently, this made-in-heaven combo got the much-needed appreciation online after foreign food writer Nigella Lawson expressed her willingness to savor and learn cooking the dish.

Taking to Instagram, the television cook reposted a picture of the humble ‘rice and lentil soup’ by another foodie named Nitin Prakash and asked if he would share the recipe of the soothing dish with her.

And in no time, she was flooded with people sharing their recipes of the go-to comfort food. Some desis were touched on seeing our staple dish featured on the chef’s profile and shared how much that scrumptious bowl of goodness means to them.

Just writing about this comforting yellow bowl makes me rush to the kitchen and treat myself to a hot serving of the delectable dish with a dollop of ghee and mummy k haath ka tasty aam ka achar and papad. How do you like to eat dal-chawal?
