Neeraj Chopra Sets An Example By Congratulating Pak’s Arshad Nadeem On Winning Gold At CWG

Sports is one of those things that brings people from across boundaries together. Sportsmanship goes beyond gender, religion and class – something that has been proved by sportspersons over the years.

Previously, Neeraj Chopra showed immense decency and class by urging people to not criticize Pakistan athlete Arshad Nadeem. Chopra had also congratulated him when he won a silver medal at the World Athletics Championships.

“Sports teaches us to be together and united,” Neeraj had said in a video on social media.

Neeraj Chopra couldn’t participate in the ongoing Commonwealth Games after suffering an injury. In a lengthy statement that he posted on social media, the 24-year-old athlete informed that he suffered a strain on his groin for which he has been advised to undergo rehabilitation by doctors, reported Indian Express.

“I had been feeling uncomfortable after the pull I felt in my groin during my fourth throw at the World Championships. On having it investigated medically yesterday by a group of doctors here in the US, a minor strain was discovered and I have been advised to undergo rehabilitation and give it rest for the next few weeks,” he stated.

However, Neeraj has been keeping a close watch on the participants of the Commonwealth Games and even celebrating their wins. He set a wonderful example by wishing Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem after he won a gold medal in Javelin Throw, reported India Today.

Arshad Nadeem broke the 90m barrier and set a new record of 90.18m.

Nadeem had posted a video of his throw on social media under which Neeraj Chopra left him a heartwarming congratulatory message.

“Congratulations Arshad bhai for gold medal and crossing 90m with a new games record. Best of luck for future competitions,” he wrote.

Setting the right example! 🙂
