Sidhu’s Comments On Pulwama Attack Sparks Boycott Campaign Against ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’

After a year-long break from entertaining his viewers, Kapil Sharma made his return with an all-new season of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, at the end of last year. However, just two months into the new chapter, the popular comedy fest has landed in the mouth of controversy yet again.

The reason? Permanent show guest Navjot Singh Sidhu and his comments on the Pulwama terror attack that martyred 44 CRPF personnel on Thursday.

Speaking about the horrific explosion that was carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Adil Ahmad Dar, Sidhu said that the entire country of Pakistan should not be blamed for a handful of people causing violence. His statements went like

“For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual?”

Just to keep you updated, the suicide bombing on 14th February has left the country with overflowing anger. People have gone out on the streets as a mark of protest and demanding revenge.

Though the former Indian international cricketer condemned the act strongly, his words were enough to spark massive outrage on Twitter.

“It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished.”

Furious Indians took to Twitter to ask Kapil Sharma to boycott Sidhu from the show, threatening to boycott the show otherwise.

Navjot Singh Sidhu’s comments definitely came at the wrong hour and can possibly turn worse for the active politician.

According to the Indian Express, Navjot Singh Sidhu has been sacked from the Kapil Sharma Show following his comments on the Pulwama tragedy. The show decided to part ways with Sidhu in a bid to avoid unwanted controversy. They have also found a replacement in Archana Puran Singh and have shot a couple of episodes with her.

“His remarks have not been taken kindly by most. Also, the channel and the show was getting dragged into the unwanted controversy. This is when the team amicably decided that Navjot make a distance from the show. The team has already shot a couple of episodes with Archana.”
