Naseeruddin Shah Calls Virat Kohli The “World’s Worst Behaved Player”, Gets Mixed Reactions

Virat Kohli is in the news again, though this time it isn’t for charming videos of marital bliss. The talented young skipper is also notorious for a fiery hot temper that we see on occasion. Currently in Australia for the ongoing Test series, Virat let his temper get the better of him in a heated volley against Aussie captain Tim Paine.

The Heated Exchange Between Kohli and Paine

Kohli and Paine almost came head to head when Virat walked in front of Tim just as he almost completed a run. Their vociferous battle even compelled on-field umpire Chris Gaffaney to step in. It was only when Gaffaney warned the captains that they backed off on the fourth morning of the second Test in Perth.

This exchange did not go unnoticed, for actor-director Naseeruddin Shah spoke of Kohli’s behaviour in a snarky Facebook post. The post in question caused outrage from Kohli’s fans country-wide.

Virat K is not only the worlds best batsman but also the worlds worst behaved player. His cricketing brilliance pales…

Wondering what the last line refers to? Well…

A short while ago Virat Kohli posted a video (getting trolled in the process) where he suggested that a fan leave India. The fan in question has stated that he liked English and Australian batsmen more than current Indian players. Shah’s post berates Kohli for his recent behaviour slams him for the comment.

Shah quips that he won’t leave India, taking a dig at Kohli for his earlier remarks against fans airing similar opinions. Here’s what cricket fans across the country had to say about his comment!

Some did more than laughing out loud by trolling Shah.

The Indian Skipper had scores of fans stand up for him against Shah. Here’s what some of them had to say!

Irate, they hit back at Shah on Facebook as well as with Tweets.

Fans spoke against the Aussie team and lauded Virat’s aggressive reaction.

However, not everyone mirrored this sentiment. Many supported Shah against Kohli in respect of the veteran actor.

While others respectfully said that Shah was out of line in calling out Kohli’s behaviour. Then some totally missed the clues and debated about ‘religion’ asking Shah to mind his own business.

It appears that the captain has chosen not to respond to Shah so far. Yet a single reply may set off a storm of tweets and brew up a media storm across the country furthering the feud. Let’s wait and watch people!
