Narayana Murthy Respectfully Touches Ratan Tata’s Feet, Twitter Lauds His Humility

It is not a big house, a swanky car, a fat paycheque, fame or success that says a lot about us. It is actually reflected in how we treat others – be it friends, family, complete strangers or even competitors.

According to Hindustan Times, TiECon (The Indus Entrepreneurs) held their annual event in Mumbai last night where Ratan Tata, the Chairman of Tata Trusts and Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, was given the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award was presented by Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy who then proceeded to bend down, respectfully touch his feet and seek his blessings, reports NDTV.

Atul Nishar, the President of TiE Mumbai, was quoted saying,

“Sri Ratan Tata’s lasting legacy is the highest standards of ethics and integrity that will guide entrepreneurs in their journey for decades to come. The awardees of the Hall of fame have shown exemplary courage, passion and foresight in being disrupters who have created wealth and opportunities for thousands.”

Thereafter, Mr. Tata shared a video from the event on Instagram stories, reports Mumbai Mirror. He captioned the snippet by saying,

“It was an honour to be awarded by TIEcon at the hands of a great friend Mr. Narayana Murthy. I am truly humbled.”

The down-to-earth, unpretentious and deferential gesture won hearts online. People praised the industry stalwarts for their humility and simplicity. Take a look.

Hence proved, humility really is royalty without a crown and greatness in plain cloth.
