Mumbaikars are well aware of the pickpockets who smoothly slide their hand into your bags or pockets to steal away phones and wallets in the crowded local trains. Anybody can fall prey to the traps of these well-trained vagabonds and robbers in the city. A video of one such incident of a robbery at Churchgate, Mumbai is doing rounds on the social media, lately.
The video features a man buying coffee at the counter of a coffee stall on the street. He has his mobile phone kept in the front pocket of his shirt. A young boy with a yellow poly bag in hand is seen approaching the man standing at the counter.
The boy very smoothly picks the phone from the man’s pocket hiding it under the poly bag and moves away with the phone without even the man realizing the theft.

Many such videos of smart and swift robbery in the city have gone viral on social media time and again. No matter however strict measures Mumbai police and the commuters have taken for years, the robbers find a way or the other to accomplish their theft anyhow.
From hanging through the roof of the local trains to steal away the commuters’ valuables to snatching away the phone and ornaments from people walking on the roads, the cases of theft in Mumbai are only increasing day by day.
We hope police soon identify and catch hold of the thief soon and take the necessary steps to make Mumbai streets safe for people.
