Mumbai Delivery Guy Gives Petrol From Own Bike To Strangers Stranded On Road At Midnight

With images of war dominating the news and our social media timelines, it is very easy to lose hope. Watching buildings being torn down, lives being lost, fellow humans wishing death upon each other can often make us question whether kindness, humanity and love really exist. However, a delivery executive proved that it indeed does.

A woman named Akshita Changan took to LinkedIn to share how a delivery guy helped her out post-midnight when she was stuck on the road in Mumbai as her bike ran out of fuel. There were barely any people who could come to her aid and she and her brother waited on the roadside for a miracle.

“Temperature down to 17 degrees, clock at 12.15 am, my bike suddenly stopped mid-way to home because of fuel. A silent night with no passengers in sight, just me and my brother waiting at the roadside for some help…”

They soon found a delivery guy nearby who was checking his phone. Akshita’s brother went up to him and asked if he could tow their bike, but the guy said he would get late for his delivery. However, he went on to empty his own water bottle and filled it with petrol from his own bike, enough to help the brother and sister ride to the nearest petrol pump.

“We discovered a delivery man checking out for an address on his mobile phone. My brother approached him for help and asked him to tow our bike, to which he refused and said ‘Sir, I’m going the other way round and I can’t be late for delivery’. He asked us for a bottle of water, but unfortunately, we didn’t have any so he took off his delivery bag, emptied his own water bottle, got down on his knees and started removing petrol from his bike so we could use the petrol to reach the nearest petrol pump. I was awestruck by his behavior, for us he was an angel in disguise, a man on his way to deliver a smile to his customer, and on his way to work, he delivered kindness to us.”

According to Moneycontrol, Akshita further expressed that amidst surging fuel prices, the man didn’t hesitate from sharing his own.

“At a time when the wealthy complain about the rising fuel prices, it was extraordinary to meet a simple delivery person who offered his fuel to strangers. His kind and considerate gesture left us in awe. For us, he was an angel disguised as a delivery person.”

People online showered immense praise on the delivery guy for putting humanity first. Here’s what some of them said:

It’s people like Roshan Dalvi who make the world a better place!
