Saif Apologises For His ‘Humane’ Raavan Statement, But Mukesh Khanna Slams His Apology

A couple of days back, Saif Ali Khan made headlines for hurting the sentiments of many Indians after his controversial statement about his next film ‘Adipurush’. The ‘Sacred Games’ star had said that through the movie they will showcase more “humane” side of the mythological character Raavan that he is going to play.

However, after being slammed for his comment, Saif released a public apology. DNA quoted him saying:

“I’ve been made aware that one of my statements during an interview, has caused a controversy and hurt people’s sentiments. This was never my intention or meant that way. I would like to sincerely apologise to everybody and withdraw my statement.”

The statement further read, “Lord Ram has always been the symbol of Righteousness & Heroism for me. Adipurush is about celebrating the victory of good over evil and the entire team is working together to present the epic without any distortions.”

But ace actor Mukesh Khanna doesn’t approve of his apology. Releasing a video on social media, he said that he doesn’t like how Saif and the team of the movie are messing with the characters of our epics.

He also wrote a length note in Hindi which translates to, “Still, unknowingly, the filmmakers are not deterred by shooting at our Sanatan Dharma and their religious characters. They do not know that they are playing with the faith of crores of Indians in the country, or that they know that they are still deliberately speaking. Or should I call it the audacity of the director, producer who calls himself an intellectual, who still has a desire to make such films,” reported Republic TV.

The actor who played ‘Shaktimaan’ further wrote, “Now, the breaking news is that Saif has written a written apology for his statement. Wow! What’s the matter!! The British have made a beautiful word say “sorry”. Shoot the arrow, shoot the bomb, punch it and then say “sorry”. But we do not approve. Why not think before speaking.”
