Recently in the Suarashtra area of Gujarat, in the city of Veraval, 3 crore rupees were allegedly wasted in one go.
According to news, MPs were also involved in this “note-showering” session and lakhs were wasted when people stepped on them danced to their hearts content. While a holy book was being read on stage, devotees were showering notes ranging from 10 rupees to a 1000 rupees; all this in the name of devotion. When one particular MP was asked about this, she termed the whole sordid affair as a ‘tradition’.
Even if the money will supposedly be used for social work, is this the correct way of accumulating funds?
