Indian Govt Bans 43 More Chinese Apps Including AliExpress, Twitter Reacts With Memes

Earlier this year in June, the Indian government decided to ban the first set of 59 Chinese applications including TikTok. Soon after, an additional 47 and 116 applications were scrapped in the second and third installments respectively.

Well, if you thought the government was done getting rid of all the Chinese apps then you’re wrong my friend. In the fourth crackdown, the central government has now blocked another 43 applications, reported The Indian Express.

With this, the government has banned a total of around 265 Chinese apps so far, including shopping website AliExpress, dating app WeDate among others. All these apps were banned under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act. The government in an official statement said:

“This action was taken based on the inputs regarding these apps for engaging in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order.”

Well, this means that we no longer can download the banned applications on our mobile phones in India. Moreover, the apps with soon stop working if you’re still using them.
