Delhi Mom’s Heartwarming Post Appreciating Son Who Scored 60% In His Board Exam Goes Viral

All the tension that surrounds board results can take a toll on kids. As we grow up, we realise that there’s just too much pressure that is put on students – doing well in mock tests, studying for tiring hours, and pulling out all-nighters to get that “perfect” score.

Kids are constantly reminded of how there’s just too much competition in the world and if they don’t get that perfect score, or get through their “dream college”, the rest of their lives is a waste as they’ll fall behind in the famous rat race. What’s worse? Heightened parent’s expectations and the fear of being unable to meet them.

We often find parents treating an average result like some sort of doom has fallen upon the family! However, in the middle of parents nagging their kids for a 90%, this mothers post comes as a breath of fresh air.

Recently, a viral Facebook post has been making rounds on the internet where a mother writes that she is proud of her son who scored a 60% in his boards.

“Super proud of my boy who scored a 60% in Class 10 board exams. Yes it is not a 90, but that doesn’t change how I feel. Simply because I have seen him struggle with certain subjects almost to the point of giving up, and then deciding to give his all in the last month-and-a-half to finally make it through!”

Not just to her son, but the mom addressed several others like him and wished them good luck, asking them to pave their own paths!

“Here’s to you, Aamer. And others like you – fishes asked to climb trees. Chart your own course in the big, wide ocean, my love. And keep your innate goodness, curiosity and wisdom alive. And of course, your wicked sense of humour!”

In just three days, the post has garnered more than 5,300 shares and has attracted a lot of attention and appreciation. Netizens are pouring praises for her approach!

Let’s make this mother an inspiration and change the way we look at board results. There are several other things a child can excel at. A mark sheet might help one get a decent job, but it never guarantees a happy life!
