Mom Interviews & Hires Her Kids For Housework To Let Them Earn Pocket Money!

Parenting is a tough job, indeed! Right from changing your newborn’s nappies to handling their tantrums during teenage, parents (read-a mom) have to deal with a lot. Moreover, their rising demands for pocket money will be a whole new story. But some parents manage to impress us time and again with their innovative ways of parenting.

And a mom named Shaketha McGregor came up with an interesting way to make her kids earn their own pocket money! She organized an in-home job interview for three positions in the house, namely, kitchen manager position, lead housekeeper and laundry supervisor.

She asked her kids who kept on asking her for new cell phone, trips, and allowances to take up one position each and earn their pocket money. She shared the details about her innovative move in a Facebook post and wrote, “So, my children continue to ask for a new cell phone, an allowance, and to go places. Yesterday I told them that I’ve heard their requests and that I’ll have a surprise for them today when they get home from school.”

“SURPRISE!!! It’s a whole iring even! If you want it, work for it, earn it! And yes, I also have an in-home credit union lol. #ThisMomMeansBusiness,” she added.

Well, this mom is quite professional when it comes to interviews! She posted the time and place of interview and also distributed application forms to her kids. The kids were supposed to fill all the details right from their name and work experience to their expected salary and joining date in the forms. Have a look at it:

She also mentioned that she will form a credit union. “Good credit? Bad credit? Need to build credit? Let Mom start you off with a line of credit to help build your allowance as well as character!” she wrote.

“Making on-time contributions around the house can pay off big time! Don’t wait! Ask mom how today!” she added.

Now that’s what we call a boss lady! Jokes apart, this idea would certainly help her inculcate the seeds of professionalism in her kids! We wonder if her kids can include this as real-world work experience on their resume later in life!
