A piece of jewellery given by our grandmother, an old watch that our father bought with his first salary, or mom’s wedding saree – all of us keep items with us that have sentimental value. They’re special not because of what they’re worth in monetary terms but due to the memories attached to them.
Journalist Rituparna Chatterjee recently shared a photo of a completely normal glass bottle that her mother has been cherishing for 40 years. And the reason is absolutely heartwarming.
Thread: It's my parents' 42nd anniversary and I have a cute story to tell. See this bottle? It's older than me. My mother has saved this bottle for over 40 years and is weirdly attached to it. It has a story behind it. pic.twitter.com/CL5jNajxqv

She revealed that when her mom was expecting, her dad bought her a secret stash of snacks in this very bottle that she kept in her room. And this affection and concern between the two is what has kept their marriage strong for 42 years.
In joint families, as happens, women’s health and wellness is often the last priority. When my mother was pregnant with me, she often found that in the churn of a big household of many members, her meals were delayed, and no one cared to ask. Upset, she finally

told my father about this and he secretly got home this bottle of jelly, biscuits and chocolates she could stash in her room for her hunger pangs. Men obviously weren’t encouraged then to openly care for their partners. She’s held on to the bottle of jelly as a sentimental item.

This beautiful story reminded everyone why love isn’t just a feeling or three words you say but an action verb!
Well I love to eat jelly biscuits and chocolate and you now know why 🙂

Beautiful and truly touching story 🙂 This bottle kinda reminds of the old timey Horlicks glass bottles we used to have.

Yes, it’s 2020 and in most joint families, newly married (young couples) still don’t get that space and freedom or privacy and most husbands can’t profess their love to their better halves citing an unwarranted reaction from his parents.

Wow … actions that scream “I love you & I care for you “ … otherwise it’s all meaningless words .. no matter how many times you text or say 🤷♀️

My old man and I have been married for 46 years . I could easily sometimes kill him with my bare hands but can never never ever forget how he stood up for me when the in-laws did their in-laws thing one time too many really early in the marriage & ours was an arranged marriage
