Mithali Raj Becomes 1st Indian Woman Cricketer To Score 10K Runs, Twitter Showers Praise

Indian cricketer Mithali Raj, who is currently the ODI captain of the women’s national cricket team, has become the first female cricketer in India to score 10,000 international runs!

According to NDTV, she reached the remarkable milestone in the ongoing 3rd One-Day International (ODI) against South Africa in Lucknow.

Besides Mithali Raj, England’s Charlotte Edwards is the only other woman cricketer who has achieved this milestone.

According to TOI, several celebrities and cricketers took to congratulate Mithali Raj for her achievement. Sachin Tendulkar, Wasim Jaffer, and several official Twitter accounts of IPL teams wished the India captain. Have a look:

NDTV further reports that Mithali Raj has played 212 ODI matches and has scored seven centuries and 54 half-centuries in the 50-over format.
