What’s the recipe for a good film? An engaging storyline, a filmmaker with a vision and a talented star cast that can bring it to life. Director Jagan Shakti brought together all of these elements in his film ‘Mission Mangal’ that released on India’s 73rd Independence Day.

With the help of some of the biggest names in the industry (Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Akshay Kumar and Sharman Joshi) he was all set to take us behind-the-scenes at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and show us how the world’s least expensive Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan) came to be.

The trailer set up a meeting with some of the most brilliant minds in the country, a team of scientists (mostly women) who were at the helm of India’s greatest space mission. Needless to say, everyone was excited to see what the film had in store.

And now, the verdict is in. People are applauding Akshay Kumar for convincingly portraying the role of scientist Rakesh Dhawan who heads the mission. His comic timing is on point and he delivers yet another powerful performance after Kesari and National award-winning. PadMan.

But it is Vidya Balan as scientist Tara Shinde who has everyone’s hearts. Many are saying that she is the pillar on which the entire movie stands.

All the complex Physics theories and facts are explained through easily understandable examples. For instance, the idea of a low-cost rocket is likened to frying pooris in no-flame.
