The New ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ Trailer Has Tom Cruise & Henry Cavill Duking It Out

Tom Cruise first took on the role of Ethan Hunt in 1996 and has portrayed the role consistently in style. The franchise has grown from its noir-driven roots and has adapted the modern-day form of action. And that has largely been possible thanks to Tom Cruise’s oodles of courage and the creativity of the directors of the franchise. So, after jumping off of bullet trains, bikes and the Burj Khalifa itself, the super spy is back for more.

The second trailer for ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’, the sixth installment in the franchise, has dropped. While the first trailer showed the possibilities of Hunt going rogue, this one doubles down on that factor and on the action as well. It also features a lot of ‘Rogue Nation’s Solomon Lane, which means he’ll be playing heavily into the plot. We’ll also get to see Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin, Michelle Monaghan, Simon Pegg & Ving Rhames reviving their roles. And some new ones in the form of Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett & Vanessa Kirby.

Every ‘Mission: Impossible’ movie has followed the trend of being standalone features. However, since ‘Ghost Protocol’, the franchise has begun to show the consequences of Ethan Hunt’s actions. In addition to that, there are bound to be huge action set-pieces involving a truck, a plane, a helicopter and Cruise’s ankle-breaking roof-top jump. And while the previous trailer showed Cruise and Cavill working together, this one sows the seeds of their probable rivalry.

I’ve always been a fan of Tom Cruise and the level of conviction that he brings to his roles. And despite playing the role for over two decades, Cruise still manages to embody Hunt like he did for the first time. So, I will be going for ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ first day, first show. Can’t wait for it, and you?
