The Miss Universe 2019 pageant concluded recently and 26-year-old Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa took home the coveted crown. People were over the moon to see society smashing conventional standards of beauty.

An incident that happened during the preliminary swimsuit competition also had people cheering for the contestants’ confidence and composure. According to NDTV, Miss France, Miss Malaysia, Miss Malta, and Miss Indonesia lost their footing on stage and tripped due to it being slippery.

25-year-old Maeva Coucke (Miss France 2018) fell on stage but handled it like a boss. She got back up with grace and didn’t lose her smile throughout.

She shared a video of the incident on her Instagram handle with a powerful caption,

“Last night I experienced the worst obsession of a Miss: falling on stage. So far it has never happened to me, but life sometimes gives us good as bad surprises. A lesson must be learned from each experience, and the lesson I draw from it is that falling and standing up is the very essence of a woman’s life, the main thing is to move forward regardless of obstacles.”

She further added,

“If you fall 9 times raise 10 times and keep your head high! Our experiences make us grow, mature and make us stronger. ? I want to thank you for your messages and to reassure you I did not hurt myself. Thank you for your support, you are the best ❤”

According to The Times of India, her brilliant recovery and ability to laugh off such an embarrassing situation had the audience applauding. Fortunately, none of the contestants suffered any injury during the event.
