Ever since Aryan Khan’s arrest in a drugs case, several people have spoken in support of him. Besides innumerable fans standing in solidarity with Shahrukh Khan and demanding his son’s release, there have been several celebrities from the industry who have spoken up about the issue.
However, besides Hrithik Roshan, Javed Akhtar, Suniel Shetty, and Taapsee Pannu, mainstream Bollywood celebrities have chosen to remain silent. Hence, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, who is known for films like Kaabil, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Jazba, etc. slammed people from the industry for not standing up for Shahrukh Khan.

“Shahrukh Khan has and continues to give jobs and livelihoods to thousands in the film industry. He has always stood up for every cause for the film industry. And the astute silence of the same film industry in his moment of crisis is nothing short of shameful,” he tweeted.

“You are absolutely right brother, they all are watching the drama and cannot say even a single word. I think industry mein sabke bache ek baar andar jaayenge, tab jaake yeh unity dikhanyenge,” he tweeted.

As support continues to pour in for Aryan Khan, co-accused Arbaaz Merchant’s father Aslam Merchant expressed his hopelessness on the case. Hindustan Times quoted him saying:
“Personally, I feel, at least Aryan has hope that his father is Shah Rukh Khan, a hugely popular and influential figure. But neither Arbaaz nor his father has that kind of influence. We’re just common people with no connections. I think Arbaaz was unlucky, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was just destiny I guess.”
