Michael Vaughan Got Savagely Trolled For Conducting A ‘Jos Buttler v. Dhoni’ Poll On Twitter

We Indians are a patriotic lot. We may trash our heroes amongst ourselves, but if any outsider were to dare question their abilities, we present a united front and support our own. And if it’s our Men in Blue in the line of fire, we’re the fiercest defenders of them all. In fact, it’s something former England cricketer Michael Vaughan experienced when he tried a not-so-subtle dig at M S Dhoni’s current form.

Michael Vaughan conducted a Twitter poll, pitting England’s Jos Buttler against our very own M S Dhoni, asking people to pick either one for their team, based on their current form.

Predictably enough, this did not seem to go down well with Indian cricket fans. While Buttler seemed to be winning at first, Indian fans, much like their idol Dhoni, finished off by putting a remarkable score on the board!

But while the poll was seeing its ups and downs, Indian cricket fans and Dhoni loyalists left no stone unturned to troll the Vaughan for his jibe.

All it took was the poll and you can consider them triggered!

The Avengers: Indian Twitter version!

And thus it began! Initially, we played slightly civilised and gave logical reasons and proof for supporting Dhoni.

1. Mahi > Michael

2. Ooooh bloated egos!

3. That’s the way, Mahi’s Way!

4. Jos would also probably choose Dhoni!

5. That was clearly a jibe at Jos if there ever was one!

6. The numbers are proof!

Pretty soon, Twitter was all about Troll by Poll! They came up with their own polls which, TBH, were freaking hilarious!

1. Such a difficult choice this!

2. Bumrah no? NO?

3. I’m going to have to look at this with an oolta chashma!

4. Tappu ke papa can do anything, TBH!

5. Ummm, see Ashiqui was a great movie. And he even won Bigg Boss. So….

6. Troll swadanusaad!

7. How is that even a question? Of course, Taimur!

8. In Dhoni’s words, “Form is temporary. Class is permanent.”

Once the results were quite clear and Dhoni emerged winner, Indian Twitter was on a high! Which meant, more trolls!

1. Mind it!

2. LOL!

3. Let Dhoni show you how it’s done!

4. Well, if truth be told…

However, Michael Vaughan did not seem to take his…umm… Jos loss lightly.

At one point, he pretty much embodied the ‘sour grapes’ theory.

Now see, you’d think he had learnt his lesson, that Indian cricket fans just by sheer number could win this poll. But no! Michael Vaughan once again ‘asked for it’ by posting another nonsensical poll, pitting two Indian stalwarts against each other!

The gall on this man, right?

Indian Twitter lay in wait to ambush him over this poll too. But I think, this one tweet sums up the entire episode too damn well!

Major Lagaan feels no? Sudhar jaao, Michael Vaughan!
