There is so much taboo surrounding pornography, the porn industry and sex workers, that society denies them basic dignity and rights. Sex workers face massive discrimination on a day-to-day basis, even though sex work is one of the oldest professions in the world.
Mia Khalifa, who is a former pornstar, recently spoke about this in a conversation with model Emily Ratajkowski and said that pornography should be made legal across the world.

According to DNA, Mia Khalifa, who was once a part of the adult industry herself, mentioned that the pornography industry is “one of the older industries in the world” and “no matter how many restrictions are placed on it, people will always find a way to refute them”. She thinks that adult content should be regulated but the ban on them should be lifted across the world.
There have been thousands of incidents where underage girls are kidnapped and later sold to the pornography industry where they are made to work against their will. There are also many teenage girls who, unaware of the traps of the adult industry, start working but later realise the kind of blunder they committed. Keeping them in mind, Mia Khalifa said that the industry should have a rule that anyone willing to work should be above 18 years of age.

“I think the minimum age for a production company making adult content should be increased to 21 years. If you want to enter the sex work industry, by all means, do it after 18 years. This is the legal age, it will never be challenged,” she said.
