Look Out World! You Might Just Get To See The Most Magnificent Meteor Shower On 12th August.

It’s raining stars.

Yes. quite literally.

The Perseid Meteor Shower has been visible on Earth since the end of July but the maximum number of shooting stars will be seen on 12th and 13th August at 1 AM, by those lucky people living in the northeastern side of the world, hopefully with no clouds of rain to block their view.

These pieces are actually left by the comet known as the Swift-Tuttle which in its 133-year-old orbit leaving a big chunk of debris on its way called the Perseid Cloud.

According to NASA meteor expert Bill Cooke, the Perseids, also known as the Sons of Perseus (since they’re seen the radiant of the constellation of Perseus, according to Greek Mythology) which perhaps may break records with 200 meteors/hour this year.

“This year, instead of seeing about 80 Perseids per hour, the rate could top 150 and even approach 200 meteors per hour.”

Now get set, and pray that there are no clouds above your head!
