Want Maggi? You Can Buy a 10 Rupee Maggi Packet In Black For Rs. 102 In South Delhi.

Maggi has been banned. That’s old news. People from all over the country have expressed their reaction towards this news over Twitter, Facebook and other social platforms. Because, let’s face it, we can never find a substitute for Maggi. It has been there in our lives since we were kids. However, it has been taken off the shelves from many states in India.

Maggi noodles are being sold for Rs. 102/- in a local market in Vasant Vihar, South Delhi.

The two-minute noodles once sold for ten or twenty rupees (those were the days) is now sold at Rs 102/- per packet. That’s a huge price difference (and soul-crushing for students). Surprisingly, people have been turning up to buy this product even after the Maggi ban.

Shopkeepers are charging whatever they feel like for a 75-gram packet. Also, the quantity is limited.

Yes! you read that right. As if this wasn’t enough, they are also controlling the quantity to be purchased by the buyer. Apparently, you are allowed to have just two packets for Rs 102/- each.

“This batch was not taken from us so instead of just throwing it away we are selling it to people. If people are ready to buy these at whatever price we quote then why throw it away?” said a shopkeeper in Vasant Vihar. With the scarcity of Maggi packets, the demand is very high. One of the customers, Rashmi Sinha said, “We have been having Maggi for so many years. I think we are immune to the lead content in it. If adulteration had to stop us from having food in this country then we would starve to death.”

This just goes on to prove that Maggi is still loved by people to such an extent that they don’t care about the excess quantity of lead present in it. They will follow wherever Maggi will ‘LEAD’ them.

Well, seems like, Maggi is here to stay! 🙂
