Prince Harry and his lawfully wedded wife and former actress Meghan Markle announced their split from the royal family on Thursday. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in an official statement that they have decided to ‘work to become financially independent’ and balance their time between the United Kingdom and North America.
The news of them stepping back as ‘senior’ members of the royal family has sent shockwaves to the entire world. Several reports even suggested that “no other member of the royal family was consulted” prior to the release of Meghan and Harry’s statement. The royal couple’s wax statues were also reportedly ‘relocated to a separate viewing area’ at Madame Tussauds London after the news of their sudden withdrawal came to light.
We’ve got to respect their wishes 🤷♂️ #Megxit pic.twitter.com/mb936VcqRd

Now, the couple’s decision to leave their royal status and embark on their own journey has reminded people of Rahul and Anjali (played by Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol) from the popular Bollywood movie, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’. People have been comparing Prince Harry to Rahul (the wealthy boy who left his family for the love of his life) and Meghan Markle as Anjali (the woman who belonged to a different societal status) with funny memes.

People comparing Meghan-Harry to Rahul-Anjali’s plot in K3G.
Yup, can totally imagining Will going to Canada to get back his brother, dancing with Kate to You are my Soniya. Charles and Camilla joining in for Bole Chudiyaan and oh, and the Queen dies. Plausible— Fifi (@Alfifius) January 10, 2020

This is full blown kabhi khushi kabhi gham. 10 years later, William’s going to be flying to America saying ‘chandu ki chachi’ to Meghan https://t.co/q4p7a7ylEP

Well, then Karan Johar predicted the royal split 19-years ago LOL! Do you think the Queen will stay mum at this or just say, ‘Keh diya, toh keh diya?’
