Opening up about this horrific incident the musician and artist said,

“I have been subjected, on more than one occasion, to sexual harassment of a physical nature at the hands of a colleague from my industry: Ali Zafar.”

She also made it a point to speak up about the fact that this didn’t happen when she was a newbie in the industry but at a time when she was already established enough, it happened when she was a mother of two. She has been known to be woke and to stand up for issues she believes in and hence is speaking up so that no woman has to be silent.

Ali Zafar, the Kill Dil actor has now responded to the allegations and has denied all claims. He shared an Instagram post saying,

“I categorically deny any and all claims of harassment lodged against me by Ms Shafi. I have nothing to hide. Silence is absolutely not an option.”

He also made it a point to mention that he has been an ardent supporter of the Me Too movement. And has always stood up for colleagues and others who have felt violated.

Zafar further added that he intends to take these allegations to the court of law and “address this professionally”. He ended his statement saying that he is a firm believer that truth always prevails.

The actor has been a part of many Bollywood films like Dear Zindagi, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, and Chashme Baddoor to name a few.
