Matt LeBlanc’s Story About Rachel’s Trifle Is So Gross, You’ll Wanna Ask Him How He’s Doin!

When it comes to television shows, Friends is a gift that keeps on giving. Even 14 years after the series finale aired, there are still fan theories, unknown behind-the-scene tidbits, and a candle burning for a reunion in every die-hard fan’s heart. And for those very fans who miss their favourite sitcom, here’s a hilarious revelation from Matt LeBlanc about one of our all-time favourite episodes, “The One Where Ross Got High.” And yes, it’s got a trifle to do with Rachel’s trifle!

Matt LeBlanc recently appeared on The Graham Norton Show, where he shared a not-so-appetising BTS story. The bad thing is, it’s cringe AF! The good thing is, it’s hilarious AF!

If you don’t believe me, just take a look at the facial expressions of his fellow guests, Benedict Cumberbatch, Maxine Peake, Mary Berry and Claudia Winkleman!

Okay, so what was this insanely funny story that elicited such a reaction from everyone present? Okay folks, time to summon your Friends knowledge!

Remember Friends Season 6 Episode 9, “The One Where Ross Got High”? Of course, you do! For those who don’t though, there’s a subplot in the episode where Jennifer Aniston’s Rachel cooks ‘meat trifle’ for everyone on Thanksgiving.

Trifle is essentially a dessert. However, Rachel’s cookbook pages get stuck, and she ends up following instructions from two different recipes! The end result? A dish that’s half trifle  and half shepherd’s pie!

It comprises layers of ladyfingers, jam, custard, raspberries, more ladyfingers, beef sauteed with peas and onions, a little more custard, bananas, then whipped cream.

Which means, when the group, including Ross and Monica’s parents Judy and Jack, had one spoon….

You’ll remember how excited and completely unfazed Joey was though with the trifle’s disgusting constitution?

Alright, so wait for it!

According to Matt LeBlanc, the cast was given whipped cream and bananas to eat during the scene. Yum, right? However, when the camera stopped rolling on the scene where Ross gobbles up all the remaining trifle off his plate, David Schwimmer spit some of it back on his plate!

“There was too much on his plate. So he starts to eat it all and he starts laughing, and we cut. We’re cutting, and he spits it back on his plate. I’m sitting right next to him, and I’m looking the other way. I didn’t see him spit it back on his plate.”

You know where this is going, right?

In the next scene, what Joey is seen relishing off his plate is the trifle which he had taken from Ross’ plate…. Which means, it was essentially, undeniably, and disgustingly, THE SAME TRIFLE THAT ROSS CHEWED AND SPIT BACK OUT!

CRINGE!!!!!! Also, LOLROFLMAO!

You absolutely have to, HAVE TO, watch him narrate this, though!

We all know Joey doesn’t share food, so maybe he should stick to his scruples and not eat ‘shared’ food too!
