Matt Leblanc Reveals The Props Which He Took From The Sets Of ‘Friends’ As Souvenirs

If you take a peek at my Youtube ‘recommendations’, you’d see a ton of F.R.I.E.N.D.S videos, because even though it’s been 15 years since the show ended, I might as well have my room decorated like Central Perk!

That’s how crazy the Friends fandom is. We still try to find any teeny-tiny bit of extra information to soothe our souls. And Matt LeBlanc gave us just that!

Recently on an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Matt LeBlanc (who played Joey btw, but you already know that!) revealed how he happened to take some stuff back home as souvenirs from the sets of Friends.

He also revealed some interesting and hilarious details.

When asked about if he knew he was going to get the part, LeBlanc revealed:

“You know, I went in a bunch of times. Then it got down to me and this other guy. So I go in there and they give you, like, a breakdown, a little basic description of who the character is. And this was an Italian-American struggling actor in New York. And so I go in for the final call-back and this other guy, and I don’t mean any disrespect to the guy, but he’s dressed as a cowboy! And I thought, one of us is way off base here!”

The other guy probably didn’t get the memo right, leaving Leblanc with the part and the rest is all history!

A lot of people (me mostly) want to know whether actors got to take back home any props from the sets. And Matt did reveal something interesting…

“You know in Joey and Chandler’s apartment we had the foosball table? I have the actual ball from the table, the foosball.”

But that’s not all he took away from his old job.

“You know the Magnadoodle that was on the back of the apartment door, that always had things written on it? Well, I clipped that at the end.”

He added, “I couldn’t fit the couch in my car (!!!), but the Magnadoodle was cool because there was this one guy, Paul, on the crew, that was the one that always drew whatever was on there. He wasn’t one of the writers, he was one of the electricians on the show, but he just happened to be the artist that kind of drew always something relevant to the story that week. So I stole it and gave it to him, so he’s got it!”

He then jokes, “I could’ve sold it for a lot more!”

Of course you could’ve! Now take my money and give me the foosball!
