‘I Have COVID, I Will Die’ Married Man Lies To Wife & Elopes With His Girlfriend In Indore

In what seems to be a dramatic plot right out of a desi TV serial, a married man hatched a bizarre plan to get together with his lover amid the pandemic. It all started when, Manish Mishra, a supervisor, employed with a clearing agent in Navi Mumbai, called his wife to inform her that he had tested positive for coronavirus.

According to Indian Express, Manish further told his wife that he would not survive and later switched off his phone too. However, after he didn’t return home the next day, his concerned family filed a missing person complaint. Eventually, police officials formed a team to locate him and traced that his last known location was Vashi.

An officer was quoted saying, “We sent a team to the spot, where we got his motorcycle and key, his backpack that he carried to work, and his helmet.”

The cops even checked the Vashi creek with the help of local fishermen, but they couldn’t locate his body. Certain that he was alive, the police kept looking for him. However, with no luck finding him, investigators then started scanning CCTV footage. They even sent his pictures to police departments of various states in India.

Finally, the police got a lead. Inspector Sanjay Dhumal was quoted saying, “We got the first lead through CCTV footage in Airoli, where he could be seen travelling in a car with a woman.” Later, the cops learnt that Manish was staying in Indore.

An officer was quoted saying, “We learnt that he was in an extramarital affair and was staying in Indore with his girlfriend, following which we sent a team and brought him back to Navi Mumbai.”

Manish, who lied to his family and eloped with his lover in Indore, was brought back to Mumbai by the cops. Lying to your loved ones about such a serious thing is not acceptable at all. What do you think about the man’s odd plan? Tell us.
