Mandana-Karimi-Domestic-Violence

It was just at the beginning of the year, we all saw the happy pictures of the ex-Bigg Boss contestant, Mandana Karimi’s marriage with businessman, Gaurav Gupta. Just after 5 months of their conjugal bond, news is rife that things have taken an ugly turn in their marriage.

According to a Mid-Day report, Mandana has filed a domestic violence case at an Andheri magistrate court on July 3. The model, who became a household name during her Bigg Boss days, petitioned for maintenance of Rs 10 lakh per month for her basic needs and requirements.

She has also demanded a compensation of Rs 2 crore for the loss of business and career, and the agony and trauma caused to her.

The Iranian model-turned-actress was asked to quit her profession, by her in-laws, as it was not compatible with Gaurav’s family’s status in society.

Mandana alleged harassment by her mother-in-law and said she was hindered from entering the house by Gaurav. Her petition even mentions how, ahead of their marriage, Gupta insisted on her conversion to Hinduism.

“I was thrown out of my matrimonial house seven weeks ago. I made desperate attempts to reconcile with them, but my in-laws didn’t allow me back. Gaurav has cut me off.”

The matter is in court now, Karimi’s lawyer Madhukar Dalvi told the daily.
