Old Man Arrives With Sign, Balloons Outside Wife’s Hospital Window On 67th Anniversary

With the number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the rise, thousands have been subjected to isolation wards and several others with serious conditions admitted in hospitals. Many families have been split apart due to this pandemic. However, in some cases, love triumphs over illness!

A man named Bob from Vernon, Connecticut, surprised his wife on their 67th wedding anniversary by standing with a huge sign and balloons outside the window of her nursing home where she was admitted because of the coronavirus, reports India Today.

Bob couldn’t visit his wife, Nancy, in the nursing home because close contact with COVID-19 patients is prohibited. According to NBC, the Governor has banned all visitors from nursing homes for 30 days because of the coronavirus and its “impact on the elderly”.

But he wanted to celebrate their anniversary, and so he did!

The huge signboard that he held read, “I’ve loved you 67 years and still do. Happy Anniversary.”

This is the first wedding anniversary where Bob and Nancy had been apart. Therefore, all Nancy could do was blow him a few kisses from the window and wave her hand to reciprocate. Later on, she went on to tell the nurses that she felt like a “queen”!

“It makes me feel bad because I want her down with me and I know she can’t be,” said Bob.

“I wouldn’t want anybody else. I don’t think she could put up with anybody else besides me,” he added.
