Our early teenage years might have had a lot of awkward experiences, but the one situation that tops it all is our parents walking in on us while watching porn! For those of us who were caught during the “act” had to hear what can be called an hour-long lecture on sanskaars.
While ‘xxx’ CDs and erotic novels might have been confiscated by our parents to our dismay, we never really had the guts to justify ourselves or fight back, thanks to the taboo surrounding watching porn in our country!
But some places outside our borders are chilled out. In fact, so chilled out that a man from Indiana sued his parents after they destroyed his porn collection!
The man (unnamed) had moved back to his parent’s house in Grand Haven after having gone through a divorce with his wife. He stayed there for about 10 months, paying rent in the form of housework.
But after a serious “domestic situation” which caused the police to intervene, he was asked to leave the house, after which he shifted to Indiana.
His parents later drove over to his new place to drop off all his possessions which he had left behind. But later while going through all his stuff, he realised that his entire pornography collection was missing.
And by “collection” I mean a whopping 12 moving boxes full of CDs, with an alleged value of $28,940.72 USD (20 Lakhs INR approx)!
On confronting his parents, they revealed that all the boxes had been destroyed by them for his own “mental and emotional health”.
His parents sent him a mail saying, “We counted 12 moving boxes full of pornography and two boxes of ‘sex toys’, as you call them. We began that day the process of destroying them and it took a while to do so.”
Furious on hearing this, the man filed a police report wanting to sue his parents for destroying his valuable collection.
According to sources, the collection consisted of movies so old that they are not just out of print, but the entire studio that made them has dissolved!
He is now suing his parents for a total of $86,822.16 (60.2 Lakhs INR approx) in damages, reports revealed!
Meanwhile, in India we can’t even fight back a death stare from our parents!
