No matter the progress we’re making as a society, some topics will always be a taboo. Like breasts. There is NOTHING dirty or vulgar about it. Half the population has it and the other half like it. And yet, when you see a mother breastfeeding her baby, she is asked to get a room or she’s asked to cover herself up. These double standards are really beyond my understanding.
But efforts are being made to normalise breastfeeding. People are beginning to stand up for those who are shamed, like Lisa Haydon.
Photographer Tanja Krstic Radusinovic was once shamed by a grown man for breastfeeding her 9-month-old baby boy by the pool.

The man appeared to be in his 40s and asked Tanja to not do ‘THAT’ by the pool. However, the man’s mother was right there and taught him a lesson of a lifetime. Tanja narrated the incident on her Facebook and well, see it for yourself.
Kevin’s mom, a 70-year-old scrawny woman is more open-minded than so many people I know, so it’s definitely not an age thing. If only all of us, and I mean, ALL OF US, are that badass and raise our kids to be that way, then maybe breastfeeding will no longer be looked down upon or be considered a taboo.
