The world we live in is defined by money and it is almost baffling how it makes one do the vilest things. It can also turn one against his/her own family and there are numerous examples to prove the cause. In fact, we have another story that will drive our point home.
In a shocking incident in New Delhi, a man named Saddam tried to sell his wife to a pimp. According to TOI, he took his 28-year-old wife, Samira on a surprise visit to her family, as a part of his plan. He had thought off selling her on the way. But unfortunately for Saddam, it turned out that the man he was trying to sell his wife was an SHO. The SHO, Sunil Kumar made arrangements to set up a trap to arrest the husband.
Reportedly, Saddam and his wife used to say in a separate two-room apartment. It is also believed that people often stared at his wife, which made him jealous and often got into frequent fights with people over the same.
Initially, Saddam decided to get rid of his wife by killing her. However, he changed his mind later on and planned to sell her to a brothel to get some bucks in return. In the process, Saddam got in touch with the pimp who turned out to be a police officer.
He demanded Rs. 1.5 Lakh for his wife at first, but settled for 1.2 Lakh at last. He promised to hand over his wife at 8 pm on Thursday and threatened to kill her if the pimp failed to show up.
However, Saddam turned out to be a clever man. He came without his wife to the spot and demanded an advance. Only after getting Rs. 10,000 from the police, he went back to bring her wife. Saddam was arrested on the spot as his wife stood shocked.
