“Life is a race; if you don’t run fast; you will be like a broken unda.”
This quote from 3 Idiots is something that has been taught to us at a very young age. As a result, we run after good marks, admission in top colleges, fancy degrees, a car, a home, a foreign trip, a 6-figure salary and what not. Amidst this crowd, there are very few people who exit the race to pursue what they actually love. It might not be a glamorous and successful path, but it is their own. Here’s an example.
A guy named Rahul Raj took to Twitter to share how his school friend, Shrawan, is basically a mathematical genius. Shrawan apparently is a graduate of IIT Guwahati and instead of taking up a job at an MNC, he decided to find ways to teach maths to people willing to learn. Shrawan allegedly lives like a nomad and all he wants in life is to teach quality maths to people.
Have a look at his tweet here:
School friend Shrawan is a maths genius. He qualified JEE & joined IIT Guwahati. He quit the race MNC jobs and kept finding ways to study and teach maths. He lives like sages, like travelers, like nomads, like crazy pple. All to teach good maths which coaching classes have killed pic.twitter.com/kXitMlDO9v

Shrawan runs a YouTube channel named ‘Maths With Shrawan’ which doesn’t have many followers. But he continues to upload videos explaining the various concepts in mathematics. Shrawan allegedly doesn’t like the way IIT and JEE coaching classes teach maths to their students and wants his lessons to be easily accessible.
Shrawan can get a faculty position in any IIT JEE coaching class in India and start earning crores, but he disagrees with these institutes at the fundamental level. His angst is that these quick-fix classes kill the passion for learning mathematics in students.

A lot of people wanted to support the man because his channel isn’t as popular yet and said that they would be subscribing to his channel to learn some good quality mathematics. They also lauded him for choosing this kind of life as it isn’t easy.

Do what the soul wants and never care about perfection or what others think. Money, fame everything is by-products and can never be a substitute for the true bliss you get from doing what you love.
