We’ll have heard about hurtful break-up stories from our near and dear friends. From live-tweeting a break-up to breaking-up over the fear of being poisoned, there are some really bizarre break-up stories out there. And, the latest addition to this is a very messed up break-up story.
A man took to Reddit to share his extremely twisted break-up, which involved accusations of cheating and public outings. Posting in the popular “Am I the Asshole” (AITA) sub-Reddit category, he titled the post “AITA for outing my ex as gay after she told everyone that I cheated on her?”
Reddit lets its users judge and decide whether the person sharing the situation is an Asshole or No. Users can comment on their thoughts below by using an abbreviation they find apt for the particular scenario.
The man began his post with, “I know the title sounds absolutely terrible.” And continued to say, “My ex and I were together for five years. I decided to propose, but she rejected me. The next day, we had a talk. She realized that she was gay, since ‘I’ve been trying to hard to please myself from men.’ After this, they obviously broke up.
The next day, he was bombarded with several messages on Facebook as his ex-girlfriend had accused him of cheating in a post. His friends started questioning him about his loyalty. He then wrote, “Now I am usually not evil, but this pissed me off. She was destroying my reputation, for god knows why. I simply commented that the real reason we broke up was because she is gay.”
People initially didn’t believe him, until his ex-girlfriend screamed at him for outing her. Then a lot of people started to call the girl out for her lies. He also denied that he had cheated on his girlfriend but said that he did have sex with somebody shortly after they broke up.
Most Reddit users supported the guy and shared the same opinion in their comments on the post – that he was “not the asshole.”
