Nashik Man Mocks Coronavirus By Wiping Nose & Mouth With Currency Notes, Gets Arrested

Even though more than 1,002,000 people have been infected by COVID-19 and the death toll has surpassed 51,000 worldwide, people still haven’t understood the seriousness of the pandemic. Earlier, people online were seen taking the ‘Coronavirus Challenge’ in which they shared their videos of themselves licking public objects. One of them was later charged with making a terror threat.

Now, a man from Maharashtra’s Nashik district was put behind bars after a video of him wiping nose and mouth with a bunch of Rs 500 currency notes went viral, reported TOI.

In the clip that was first uploaded on the video making platform TikTok, the 40-year-old accused is seen mocking the virus and making controversial statements. “There is no cure for Corona, this is not a disease but Allah’s punishment to you,” he says.

His video went viral in just a jiffy and soon caught the attention of Nashik rural police who swung into action to track him down. With the help of their cybercrime department, they were able to track the location from where the video was made. The man was later arrested from Malegaon for making an objectionable video on coronavirus.

Replying to the video tweeted by a Twitter user, Nasik police said:

The twitter account was later suspended. The man in the video was charged under section 153 and 188 of the Indian Penal code, said reports. A senior police officer in this regard said:

“The man was arrested on Thursday. he will be produced before the Malegaon court on Friday for getting his police remand.”

The death toll due to the virus has reached 56 in the country. This isn’t a joke, guys. Please adhere to social distancing and help eradicate the pandemic completely from the country.
