Guy Masturbates Outside Assam Girls Hostel Regularly, Girl Posts Videos On Facebook

masturbates

I am sick and tired of the number of cases of public masturbation that keep coming up. When will these men learn? What is this vile pleasure they receive in doing such obscene acts at women? What will it take to bring about a permanent change in our society where we wouldn’t have to be victims or spectators to such disgusting deeds? In a way, I guess we should be glad that at least now, these cases are being reported. This is still better than hushing up the matter and pretending as if everything is all well and rosy in the world.

But should we really set the bar so low as to be satisfied with just this? Yes, it does get these perpetrators behind bars in some cases, but is that really enough?

Another such case has been reported now by a girl from Guwahati, Assam.

Videos of a guy masturbating outside a girls hostel have gone viral on social media. A girl staying there had initially shared the videos on Facebook, exasperated by the repeated deeds of the man.

In her Facebook post, she writes:

“Eve teasing is a typical social crime.
It’s very disgusting, when you come across this thing early morning at 5.30 am…
I was sitting near by my Window and was studying for exam…
I don’t feel safe to open my window because of this guy…
Sometimes at night… sometimes in the morning.”

The videos shared by her shows the man wearing only a pair of black trousers, unzipping his pants, flashing his genitals and masturbating at the girl.

The girl also reveals the identity of the man in her post:

“This person is a watchman of Hyundai service center of Christian basti Gmch road…
He has no shame at all. even though he saw me… infact he was teasing me more.”

Since the post went viral, the girl revealed yesterday evening that she has filed an FIR with the Assam Police and that they have arrested the concerned person. She also thanked the police for their swift action.

While many offered their support to the girl, one other matter that is concerning, to say the least, is that 52 people reacted to her post about being harassed with the ‘haha’ symbol. What about this incident did they find funny? Have we trivialised the matter of sexual harassment to just a joke? This is unacceptable.
