I don’t get men sometimes. How quickly they can pass judgements on a woman’s body, make decisions for women, and charge everyone trying to spread awareness regarding patriarchal conditioning with their famous go-to response for every problem on earth – ‘Not all men’.
Now if you are someone who supports female existence, and the basic right that comes with it, you’ll find what I’m about to say rather amusing. But if you’re someone whose primary instinct is to not take any kind of accountability for your gender’s behavior, this article is about to get very uncomfortable for you.
So, here’s what happened. A man (unnamed) went on an angry rant on Facebook against periods. Actually, not exactly against ‘periods’ (because that would have made more sense). His rant was against those who have periods – women.
Before you read the post in its entirety, here’s a little gist of what the man says:
1. Periods are “disgusting”.
2. Women who constantly complain about period cramps are annoying and not ‘sexy’.
3. A woman’s “job” is to be “aesthetically pleasing” and feminine, and whining about periods makes her neither.
4. Periods are basically a woman’s fault. Because women eat burgers. And the blood is basically the body trying to get rid of the burger. Yes, you read that right.
…I have reached a point where my eyes can roll no further.
Now here’s the entire post:
At first, I was outraged, to be honest. However, the man’s scientific explanation as to why women have periods were so hilariously inaccurate that it made me feel sorry for him!
Netizens cannot help but break into a fit of laughter as well!
I would like to peacefully impart 2 pieces of advice to not just men, but anybody who has some bizarre ideas about periods –
1. Read a little on the female reproductive organs.
2. Stick by almighty Rachel Greene’s famous quote – “No uterus, no opinion!”
