Man Breaks Into Restaurant Amid Lockdown, Binge Eats Food & Alcohol For 4 Days

During the lockdown, the thought of quarantining at a restaurant must have crossed your mind at least once. Especially when your life is all about pizzas, burgers, fries, and coke! Of course, your self-isolation would have turned a lot more exciting then.

But we are also sure, you did not try to break into a restaurant to fulfill your dream of spending quarantine with a stock full of restaurant food and liquor. However, a burglar, Louis Angel Ortiz from New Haven, Connecticut in the US did, reports Fox News.

The man broke into a downtown restaurant and served himself with food and liquor worth thousands of dollars for 4 days, reports IB Times. He was found asleep by the manager at the Soul de Cuba Café so he called the cops. The police found Ortiz in possession of a bottle of the restaurant’s rum.

The cops reviewed the security footage and discovered that Ortiz had broken into the cafe four days back. He “helped himself over the course of four days to the restaurant’s food, liquor, and beer,” the department confirmed in the report.

The restaurant manager claimed that Ortiz allegedly drank or stole away 70 bottles of liquor from their cafe. Ortiz has been charged with burglary, larceny and criminal mischief by the police.

Looks like, the lockdown has allowed burglars to lay their hands on locked, yet unguarded restaurants and offices around the city. Be very careful and alert!
