He suffered a knee injury which prevented him from playing sports.

According to Wales Online, Gwilym said, “I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do in uni so I decided to put that off and I ended up working in British Gas and then I started my own financial startup back in 2006 at the age of 21.”

Even though his professional life was soaring, he wasn’t happy with his personal life. Talking about that time, he said,

“At that time I was pretty overweight, working 12 hours a day, plagued with injuries which meant I couldn’t train at all. The business was doing okay, but I decided I needed to get my life in order and wanted to get healthy again.”

Narrating the story he said that he had even started a folk-country band with his friend. That’s when his barber told him to grow a beard because he said that ever guitarist in a folk band needed to have a beard.

That’s when everything started.

Gwilym decided to clean up his diet and cut out takeaways, but the biggest difference came when he quit his desk job. He now keeps a track of his steps and tried averaging about 15,000 per day.

The weight dropped and the Insta fame grew, that’s when he was spotted to be the face of Nathan Palmer’s 2015 collection.

Gwilym, who is now signed with top London agency AMCK Models. He has worked for Vans, Bud Light, Diesel and with David Beckem very closely. Peek into his life here:

2006 | 2016 #TransformationTuesday A picture says a thousand words…. Coming from being 22 years old, overweight, plagued with injuries, and unhappy barely leaving the house, I'm happier and healthier than I ever thought possible and doing things that didn't even cross my mind to dream of.. I like what Les Brown said: "When you want something out of life, don’t worry about how you’re going to get it. 'HOW' is none of your business. The most important thing is to hold the vision" There's a couple of people in particular who have been integral to the transformation of my life. I hope they know who they are. But I also want to thank each and everyone of you guys following me. I wouldn't be here without you 😊
