Privilege is a dangerous thing when you let it get to your head and treat others who are less privileged than you with contempt. Dignity of labour is a real thing and people need to understand that just because somebody provides you with certain services does not warrant that you treat them like they are lesser human beings.
Unfortunately, people like that still exist and another shocking video has emerged where a man attacked a maid in the lobby of his building.
According to India Today, the incident occurred on March 18, 2018, in Powai when the 32-year-old man Valentino Bakshi, was recorded on the CCTV camera of the lobby pushing the 48-year-old victim so hard that she is flung against the wall.
In the footage, he was seen muttering something after which he kicked the victim who was still on the ground from the impact of the push and kicks her before he moves out of frame. The guard is also seen entering the scene but could not confront the man.

The victim suffered a severe head injury and proceeded to call her daughter to help her, after the incident.
The victim explained the situation according to a Mumbai Mirror report and said that Bakshi wanted her to work in his house on March 7. However, she refused and told the building’s security guard and another maid about their conversation. This seemed to have angered Bakshi who then assaulted her, as seen in the video.
Although Bakshi can be clearly seen pushing the woman, he has denied all allegations against him and has recounted a different series of events. In his statement, he said that on March 7, the woman came up to him to buy a TV that he intended to sell for ₹2000.
However, Bakshi refused and on the day of the incident she came up to him again and repeated the offer. He added that when they were conversing, the woman’s spittle kept flying on his face and he pushed her a little too hard, unintentionally. He claims that he even apologised to her for the accidental push.
The man has now been booked by the police under Sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 504 (Intentional insult) of the IPC, as per the FIR registered by the woman.
