37 YO Man Arrested For Ringing Doorbells Of Mumbai Residents At Midnight & Fleeing

If you are somebody who loved to ring doorbells of random houses and fleeing away, give me a high-five! But if you are the other person who answered the doorbell and found nobody standing outside and was extremely annoyed, let me apologise. You see, we didn’t know that we can get arrested now!

Speaking of which, a 37 YO man in Mumbai recently got arrested for ringing the doorbell of a jeweller’s house and fleeing in the middle of the night, reports News18. Allegedly, the man has a habit of ringing doorbells and fleeing and has been annoying several residents of the area.

The report revealed that the man was caught by the jeweller and other residents of the building. When confronted, he had no justification. Instead, he started verbally abusing the jeweller and the other residents. The police were called and the arrest was then made.

According to a report by The Indian Express, the police claimed that the man liked to disturb people while they slept! After his arrest, four more residents came forward with similar complaints.

The incident occurred in Kanjurmarg and the police revealed that the man was under the influence of alcohol.

The man has been booked under section 448 (punishment for house-trespass), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. A non-cognizable offence has been registered against him.
