Mallika Dua Replies To Twinkle Khanna’s Apology For ‘Lame Jokes’.

There’s a lot of water under the bridge in the Mallika Dua–Akshay Kumar controversy. And despite their respective fans’ ardent desire to get it over with, the back and forth still rages on.

While it was the comedienne’s father, Vinod Dua, who got the ball rolling with his Facebook post, the fragile situation has been brought to quite an explosive point by the superstar’s wife, Mrs. Funnybones, Twinkle Khanna.

If you’ve been following Twinkle’s recent digital activities, it’s kind of hard to figure out her frame of mind.

First, she defends her husband and proclaims that this will be the last we’ll hear about it from her.

Then she goes ahead and cracks a couple of “lame jokes” on Mallika Dua, which go down as smooth with the latter’s supporters on Twitter as a bottle of really bad vodka on the rocks.

And then, yesterday, out of nowhere came a Facebook post from Twinkle, which was a heartfelt apology for her recent antics on social media and a reasonable explanation for the same.

She cited several reasons for acting the way she did, one of them being Mallika’s article that somehow managed to drag Twinkle’s five-year-old daughter Nitara into the debate.

“… when in this latest episode regarding my husband, my five-year-old was also dragged in for something that she had absolutely nothing to do with, I reached breaking point.”

While words that had already been said could not be taken back by either parties, an effort to make amends ought to be appreciated.

All eyes were on Mallika now. Would she too wave the white flag of truce? Would this be the start of another round of scarring debate? Looks like we finally have an answer.

Last night. Mallika Dua decided to respond to Twinkle Khanna’s apology with just one simple yet impressive tweet.

With this one tweet, Mallika seems to have laid the groundwork for an end to this fiasco which has already stretched out enough. Let’s hope this is the last we hear of it.
