For a few weeks, several people have been calling out Bollywood celebrities for going out on vacations, especially to the Maldives, and allegedly “flaunting” their “privilege” on social media while the rest of the country fights against a raging pandemic. Actors like Amit Sadh and Nawazuddin Siddiqui slammed the celebrities in question for their apparent lack of empathy.
However, Maldives recently barred Indian tourists keeping in mind the worsening Covid-crisis of our country. According to TOI, the Maldives Ministry of Tourism recently tweeted that they have suspended India-to-Maldives travel for tourist facilities in inhabited islands.
